The Update Schedule:
Samsung kicked things off with the Galaxy S25 series, which received the update globally in September. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 also come with Android 16 pre-installed. But here's where it gets controversial—some devices are left waiting, with updates expected in October and November.
Galaxy S Series:
- Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge: Updated in September.
- Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, and S24 FE: Updated ahead of schedule.
- Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, and S23 FE: Updated in late September.
- Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra: Update paused after initial rollout.
Galaxy Foldables:
- Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7: Pre-installed with Android 16.
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6: Updated early in certain regions.
- Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Flip 5: Updated soon after.
- Other foldables: Scheduled for October and November updates.
Galaxy Tablets:
The new Galaxy Tab S11 series ships with Android 16, and the Tab S10 series was the first to receive the update in late September. Other tablets will follow suit in the coming months.
Galaxy A Series:
The Galaxy A56 was the first in the A series to get Android 16, with the A36 and A55 following closely. The A26 is expected to join the list in October, along with other A series devices.
Other Galaxy Devices:
Various other Galaxy models, including the M, F, and XCover series, are also receiving the update. But the schedule for these devices is less defined, with some updates already rolled out and others expected in the coming months.
